こんなことをしているから、教師を志望する人は減る
今通っている理髪店は、今も去年と同じ料金のままだ。
店主に聞くと、できる限り値上げしないという。
応援の意味をこめて、千円でできる「白髪ぼかし」を次回、頼もうかどうしようかと思ったりする。
こんな投稿を読んだ。
教師に求められる「見た目」とは
９月末に息子が３週間の教育実習に行きます。先日、事前指導で実習先から髪色を注意され、地毛だと伝えたそうです。
息子の髪は高校時代、先生の求めで地毛証明書を提出したほど明るい茶色です。
納得してもらえたと思ったら、一緒に実習に行く他の学生が、「グループに明るい髪色の人がいる」と指摘されたとのこと。
実習先は母校ではない小学校。地毛とは思ってもらえないのかもしれません。
大学からは、実習では髪を黒く染めるよう指導されています。
息子は大学１年の時にも３日間の実習があり、その際はそのままで行き、問題にはなりませんでした。
今回は自分以外に迷惑がかかるから黒く染めようか、と悩んでいます。
私も「第一印象は大切だから染めた方がいいかも」と思います。
でも、本来、髪の色など見た目は教師としての資質に関係するのでしょうか。
地毛は美容師さんにも褒められるきれいな茶色。私はモヤモヤしてしまうのです。
学生が求められる「地毛証明書」なんて、日本以外でもあるのでしょうか？ このことを外国に住む人に言ったら、笑われるのではないでしょうか？
イランで起きている、女性の髪に対する警察の取り締まりを思い起こさせますが、これは宗教がかかわってくるので、簡単には解決しないでしょう。
日本の場合、髪の毛の色のルールは、幸い宗教とは関係しません。
ようやく、都立高校の多くが、今年から、下着の色！とか髪型については、制限しないことにしたそうですが、それでも一部の学校は、地毛証明書の提出を求めるそうです。
こういうのを「抵抗勢力」というのでしょう。
バカげたルールを廃止する動きが他の学校にも広まってほしいです。
「多様性の尊重」とは相いれない、こんな校則で拘束するなんて、エネルギーと時間とお金の無駄遣いです。
こんな有様では、教師を志望する人が減っても仕方ないでしょう。彼らは教えるために教師になるのであって、校則違反を取り締まる仕事をしたいわけではないでしょうから。

ところで、冒頭で書いた理髪店については、行く間隔を少し狭めるようにします。髪を染めるのは好みではないので。

What kind of "appearance" is required of teachers?

When he thought he was convinced, another student who was going to practice with him pointed out, "There is a person with light hair in the group."
The internship is at an elementary school that is not his alma mater.
Maybe the teachers at that school don't think it's natural hair.
The university instructs students to dye their hair black during practical training.
When my son was in his first year at university, he had a three-day practical training, and at that time, he went as it was, and it was not a problem.
He is worried about whether he should dye it black because he will cause trouble other than himself this time.
I also think that "the first impression is important, so it might be better to dye it". But is hair color and other appearances related to a teacher's quality? The natural hair is a beautiful brown that is praised by hairdressers. I feel confused.
Is there a "natural hair certificate" that students are required to submit outside of Japan? "If you told people living abroad about this, wouldn't they laugh?"
It reminds me of Iran's police crackdown on women's hair, which will not be easily resolved as religion is involved.
Fortunately, in Japan, hair color rules have nothing to do with religion. Finally, many metropolitan high schools have abolished rules regarding underwear colors and hairstyles starting this year.
Even so, some schools require submission of a natural hair certificate. This is what we call "resistance".
I hope the movement to abolish the ridiculous rule spreads to other schools. It is a waste of energy, time and money to restrict students with such school rules that are incompatible with "respect for diversity".
In such a situation, it can't be helped if the number of people who want to become teachers decreases. They want to become teachers in order to teach, not in the job of enforcing school rule violations.
