ネットカフェでCDから楽曲をUSBにダウンロードした

この記事に書いたように、Amazon Music Primeのプレイリスト機能を使っている。このプレイリストに、好きな曲を入れようとして、Amazon Music Primeを検索したら見つからなかった。有名な曲だが、歌っている歌手が数年前に引退後、音楽配信サービスから自分の曲を全部取り下げたようだ。

幸い、近くの図書館のCDコーナーに、その曲が入ったCDがあったので、借りてきた。自宅のＰＣにはＣＤ再生機能がないので、ネットカフェにＣＤを持っていって、そこのＰＣからＵＳＢにダウンロードすることにした。

受付でＣＤやＤＶＤ，ブルーレイディスクを再生できる機器を無料で借りて、Windows Media PlayerでＵＳＢに楽曲をダウンロードすることができた。

やり方をすっかり忘れていたので、このサイトを参考にした。

図書館で借りるのは無料だったが、ネットカフェでＰＣを操作するのに手間がかかったため、少々延長費用がかかってしまった。

ＣＤから楽曲をコピーすることについては、一般社団法人 日本レコード協会のサイトにこのように書かれている。

Q：レンタル店から借りたCDを自分のパソコンにコピーするのは違法ですか？
A：違法ではありません。レンタル店から借りたCDを自分で聞くためにコピーすることは、「私的使用のための複製」に該当するのでコピーできます。違法ではありません。

今のように楽曲の配信サービスが普及するまでは、借りてきたCDからカセットテープやＰＣなどにコピーしていたが、今ではそれが非日常的な行為になってしまった（今ではレンタルＣＤ店も無くなってしまった）。

学生のころ、３千円くらい払って買ったＬＰレコードの楽曲が、今はタダの感覚で聴ける。楽曲の作成者たちが搾取されているように感じる。

I downloaded songs from a CD to a USB at an internet cafe.

As I wrote in this article, I use Amazon Music Prime's playlist function. When I searched Amazon Music Prime to add my favorite songs to this playlist, I couldn't find them. It's a famous song, but after the singer retired a few years ago, it seems that all of his songs were removed from music distribution services.

Luckily, my local library had a CD with that song in the CD section, so I borrowed it. Since my PC at home doesn't have a CD playback function, I decided to take the CD to an internet cafe and download it from the PC there to a USB.

At the reception desk, I was able to borrow a device that could play CDs, DVDs, and Blu-ray discs for free, and was able to download songs to a USB using Windows Media Player.

I had completely forgotten how to do it, so I used this site as a reference.

Regarding copying songs from CDs, the website of the Recording Industry Association of Japan states the following:

Q: Is it illegal to copy a CD borrowed from a rental store onto my computer?
A: It's not illegal. Copying a CD you borrowed from a rental store for your own listening purposes falls under "copying for personal use," so you can copy it. It's not illegal.

About music usage Q&A collection

Until music distribution services became popular, people would copy borrowed CDs onto cassette tapes or PCs, but now this has become an unusual activity (Besides, there are no CD rental stores anymore).

When I was a student, I paid around 3,000 yen to buy songs on LP records, but now I can listen to them as if they were free. I feel like the creators of the songs are being exploited.
