英語にもオヤジギャグというものが存在します。その名もDad Jokes。そのままですな。
Wikipediaの"Dad Joke"の冒頭を引用します。punというのは、語呂合わせやダジャレという意味です。イギリスのコメディアンの特徴としてdeadpun（笑い話をしているのに真面目な表情をしている状態）であることが挙げられます。
A dad joke is a short joke, typically a pun, presented as a one-liner or a question and answer, but not a narrative. Generally inoffensive, dad jokes are stereotypically told with sincere humorous intent, or to intentionally provoke a negative reaction to their overly-simplistic humor.
Many dad jokes may be considered anti-jokes, deriving humor from an intentionally not funny punchline.
A common type of dad joke goes as follows: A child will say to the father, "I'm hungry," to which the father will reply, "Hi, Hungry, I'm Dad."
典型例として紹介されているDad jokeはけっこう寒いです。
子：「お腹空いた」
父：「やあハングリー、私はお前の父さんだよ」
中級以上の英語学習者にとって大変有用な動画を制作している英語教育系YouTubeチャンネルSpeak English With Vanessaさんの動画を見て、この典型的な英語ギャグを学んでいきましょう。なお、共演している表情豊かな男性はバネッサさんの旦那さんだそうです。数ある動画の中で、オヤジギャクからやや高級感ありの15個の典型的ギャグが紹介されているものがあったので、いくつか皆さんにもご紹介します。
One day a Viking named Rudolph the Red looked out the window and said, "It's going to rain."
His wife said, "How do you know?"
He said, "Because Rudolph the Red knows rain, dear."
私は解説を見る前、rain（雨が降る）とreign（統治する）を掛けた言葉遊びになっているのだと思いました。ところが・・・
どうやらRudolph the Red knows rain, dearという長いフレーズ自体がキモだったようです。
Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer、日本でも誰もが知っている「赤鼻のトナカイ」の英語歌名だったんですね。
ある程度年をとってから英語を学習し始めた者にとって、子どもの時にしか親しんでいない英単語や童謡は意外と盲点になっています。私も近頃は幼児用の絵本や童話を意識して読むようにしていますが、それでも新しく学ばされることが多いです。
まだまだ修行を積まねばなりません。
