贈り物にバラの折り紙〜佐藤ローズの一輪挿し〜／Origami rose arrangement

バラ折り紙の代名詞・佐藤ローズ。
その中でも人気の高い「ハイブリッドティーローズ」です。
Sato rose, the masterpiece of origami rose.
This is the popular one "Hybrid tea rose".

妻が通っているピアノ教室の先生へ、日頃のお礼としてプレゼントしたもの。
いつもは花単体しか作らないのですが、今回は奮発して「一輪挿し」のフルセットをこしらえました。

My wife goes to the neighborhood piano class, so I presented it to the teacher, with my gratitude.
I always make only flower & calyx, but this time I made a push and prepared the whole & vase.

こういうアレンジは得意な方ではないのですが…
気に入ってくださり、そのまま飾ってくれたと妻から聞いて安心しました。

Originally I'm not used to making such an arrangement, but I heard she was impressed and displayed it immediately, I'm relieved.

今日はせっかくなので、全体のプロセスをざっくり追いかけてみましょう。
Today I'll track the overall processes briefly.

まずは、花本体。
素材はヴィヴァルディ「ROSE PETAL」。
適度な厚みとコシの強さが特徴です。
柔らかいピンク色が、佐藤ローズの構造美を引き立てています。
ベースは、25cm×25cmの正方形を五角形にカットしたもの。

First, flower.
The material is Vivaldi "ROSE PETAL".
It has moderate thickness and durability.
Soft pink increases the structural beauty of Sato rose.
I cut 25cm×25cm square paper into pentagon.

次に「ガク」です。
素材はタントの15cm。
これも五角形にカットしてから始めます。
花にスポッとはまるように、中央の沈め折りは深めにやっておくのがコツです。

Next, calyx.
The material is 15cm×15cm Tant paper.
This is also started from pentagon.
You should fold "Open sink" deeper to fit the flower.

それから「バラの葉」。
ガクと同様、タントの15cmです。
三角形がベースなので、正方形を斜めにカットして使います。
先端の葉は15cmですが、両脇の２枚は小さい方がキレイに見えそうなので、12cmにカットしました。

Leaves are made of Tant paper, same as calyx.
They start from triangle.
Top leaf is made of 15cm×15cm, the other two are 12cm, so that the whole shape looks slim.

最後に「茎」となるワイヤーです。
それぞれの葉に、ヘアピン状に曲げた先端が裏面に来るように突き刺します。
キュッとひねって根本を固定したら、３つの葉を束ねてねじり、本体と合流させます。
ワイヤーの色が不釣り合いなので、マスキングテープでまきまき。

Finally, stem.
Penetrate a wire through each leaf, so that the tip (bend like a hairpin) appears on the back.
After fixing the joint by twisting, bundle three leaves and twist, and combine with the main stem.
Wire's color looks unbalanced, so I wrapped the masking tape.

縦長の容器にストンと挿せば…
はい、一輪挿しの完成です！

Standing in a vase...Completed!

Hybrid tea rose is quite difficult, but worth challenging!

実は３年前にも、同じ素材でハイブリッドティーローズを折ったことがありました。
当時の写真と今の写真、比べてみましょう。

I've made this model with a same material three years ago.
Let's compare today's one with the past.

３年前のものは、中心がやや陥没気味ですね。
今回のものは、中心がキュッと上がりつつも、ふっくら丸みを帯びています。
当時はそれでも満足のいくクオリティでしたが、こうして比べると違いが分かりますね。
The past one, the center looks a little depressed.
Today's one, the center is moderately inflated and rounded.
In the past I was satisfied but now I'm realized the difference by comparing.

この「陥没」を解決する方法は、２年前の記事で解説しています。
収束時に、中心が外側より高くなるよう微調整できるんです。

When assembling, the center can be adjusted to be higher than outside.

I felt like making rose since I introduced Motchi's shirt & Sato rose.

思いがけず過去作との比較もでき、成長を感じられて嬉しく思います。
記録をしっかり残しておいて良かったです。
Unexpectedly I could compare with my past work and realize improvement.
Leaving visualized report is exactly important!

今回の記録も、未来に活用できる日が来るのでしょうか。
まだまだ「伸びしろ」があると信じて、これからも挑戦を続けたいと思います。
I wonder that today's report may also be useful in the future.
From now on I believe that I can be better and make a challenge actively.
