問題：Should Japan introduce a universal basic income?

イントロ

Although it is controversial to introduce the universal basic income or not, I don’t think that that is a good idea. I have some reasons to support my opinion.

ボディ１

The first reason is that it needs very high taxes.
Even now, Japanese people are suffering because of the increase of the price and high taxes.
I don’t think that we can afford much higher taxes than now and we can make the agreement to pass the law.

The second reason is that people are less motivated when we conduct it.
If we get income without working, it is pointless to work seriously.
The pay is a big reason why we work hard and there is no need to destroy it.
Of course, basic income will allow us to spend much time for ourselves, but I think most people will not work. One of the biggest reason why Japan became a developed country is that because we are very diligent and serious toward work. We will lose one of our strengths by conducting it.

結論

Although the discussion is still going on, I strongly believe that it is not a good idea to introduce it.

・Some people believe that a universal basic income would create a “welfare state” where no one would work, and this would damage the society. What do you think?

That’s the point of my speech. We are recognized as hard working people and　we  have little natural resource so if we don’t work as we do now, Japan will become a very weak country. This is why I strongly disagree.
 

・Do you think corporations have a role in funding a universal basic income?

To begin with, I am not a big fan of universal basic income, and I don’t think it is realistic because we don’t have enough financial resources. Moreover, I don’t see the point that corporations do it. It seems like there is no merit by doing it.

 

・Do you believe that a truly equal society is possible ?

I don’t think so. I feel like the inequality and discrimination are parts of our instinct.
For example, children will bully the different child from them because it is our nature.
It is not only about human beings, but also about all the creatures. Although I admit that we need to try to eliminate the inequality, I don’t think it is possible.

良かった点

・まだまだ改善すべき点は多いが、今までやと一番マシな一回目やったのではないか？
・2回目は元気さも意識しつつ応答ができたんではないかな
・メモに書いた通りの構成を考慮時間でしっかり構築できたのでよかった。
 

改善点

・一回目、もっともっと元気よく自信を持ってやっていきたい。自信のなさが出すぎている。
・声を張っていきたいわね
・沈黙の時間がかなり気になるので、ここを埋めるフィラーを練っていきたい。
