"You did a great job, and your improvement over these three years is so remarkable. Your thesis shows you are truly a student from my seminar." When I presented my Japanese version of the thesis to my professor, he said that. Hearing these words made me extremely happy and excited because it felt like he acknowledged my ability and recognized me as his disciple.

My thesis theme is about manhood in Richard Ford's "Wildlife" and this topic of manhood or masculinity in America is his area of expertise. Moreover, I admire his writing style, which is not luxurious but carefully explained. His writing is more logical and objective than harsh and aggressive, making each of his theses persuasive. Reading his work and imitating his style probably makes him feel that I am indeed his student.

Additionally, he mentioned that the final evaluation of my thesis depends on my English, so I must stay focused until next Friday, the deadline for my thesis. I have to submit the thesis by January 19th, and a presentation and oral examination will follow on February 8th.
