Conditions for Learning -学習を支える条件-

Today's blog is about the 2nd Assignment in the Education Policy and the Management of Instruction course!
以前のブログで紹介した教育政策のコースでの、２つ目のAssignmentについて触れたいと思います。

これはConditions for learning memoといって、自分で学校で学ぶべき内容、それを促進するための条件２つをエビデンスでサポートして誰かに提案するというものです。
This assignment, named Conditions for learning memo, is to set a learning goal, support two conditions that facilitate this goal, and articulate a policy proposal to a specific person.

私の場合は、NYCの市長（※）宛に、カリキュラムの充実と教室やランチルーム等の整備を通じて食育を推進するという内容でメモを書きました。
本文は３頁とコンパクトですが、Endnoteで大量の情報を入れているためかなり時間がかかりました・・・！

My memo is about nutrition education accompanied by an intensive and hands-on curriculm, and classroom/lunchroom intervention (including behavioral nudges), written for NYC mayor Bill De Blasio. Although the body is only three pages, it took plenty of time to put a lot of evidence in the endnote.

（※）通常、教育は一般行政部門とは分離されていますが、ニューヨークは2002年以降Mayoral Controlといって市長が教育行政に関する権限を有するようになっています。（以下の過去ブログ参照）
Although education is usually separate from generous purpose government, in some cities such as NYC, mayors have legal authority over public schools in their jurisdication, which is called "mayoral control". (see also this past blog)

こちらが私の書いた実際の文章ですので、もしよかったら目を通してみてください。
だいぶ時間をかけた成果か、先生から「これは良い出来なので次年度以降に模範例として共有したい」と言っていただきました。

Below is my memo, which the prof praised and suggested that she might use it as an exemplar in future classes!
