こんにちは！シンガポールで子育て中のYumikoです。

今日は私がシンガポールで子育てしていて感じた、シンガポールのココが良い！と思った話をしたいと思います。

1つ目は人が優しいこと、2つ目は治安が良いこと、その2つです。

まずは、人が本当に優しい。おっちゃんも優しい。
子連れだからというのももちろんあると思うんですけど、日本で暮らしていた時よりもすごくよく話しかけられます。

ベビーが可愛いね～っていう会話は、日本にいるときの５倍くらいな感覚。

すごく印象的だったのは、雨が降り始めてしまって傘持たないで急ぎ足で歩いていたらおじちゃんがはいって傘くれようとしたんです。

優しすぎませんか！！？？

その時はあと数メートルで家につくところだったので、大丈夫って断ってしまったのですが、シンガポールに暮らし始めてすぐの出来事で嬉しかったですね。

MRTというシンガポールの地下鉄にベビー連れて乗ると、電車に乗り込んだ瞬間に端っこに座っている人は100パーセント譲ってくれます。

これもおっちゃんだったんですよね。
自分より歳が結構上の人に席を譲られるというはじめての出来事に最初は若干罪悪感あったんですけど、
乗るたびに譲られるので、べビーカー持っていたり赤ちゃん抱っこしている人には、みんな当たり前に席をゆずる感覚があるのかな～と思う様になりました。

図書館でも。抱っこしながら図書館歩いていたら息子が寝ちゃったな～って時におじさんがココ座れるよって椅子を譲ってくれる。

本当優しいですよねー。
なんでなんでしょう？気候があったかいから？
なんだかみんな心にゆとりがある感じがしますね。

2つ目は、治安が良くて安心して暮らせること。

シンガポールはそこら中に監視カメラが設置されていて、赤い服を着たセキュリティーの方も多くて、だからこそみんなルールを守って暮らしているんだと思うんですよね。

私はよく、子供が寝たタイミングでショッピングモールのフードコート的なところでご飯食べたり、飲み物飲んでたりするのですが

その時に、近くに座っているおばちゃんから、トイレ行くから荷物ちょっとみててくれる？とかもう１件買い物してきたいんだけど、あなたまだいるの？ちょっと荷物見ててー！って言われることがあるんです。

これは日本ではあんまりないことですよねー？

国によってはすぐ荷物すられちゃったり心配になりそうだけど、シンガポールの人はなんだかとても安心して暮らしているんだなーと感じました。

多分日本よりシンガポールの方が治安は良いんじゃないかな？と感じています。

Today, I would like to talk about what I like about Singapore while I am raising my son here.

First, Singaporean are so gentle and kind.

People are exactly nice. Of cause every gender.

I think it's partly because I'm here with my children, but people talk to me more often than they did when I was living in Japan.

Probably, the number of people who talk to me about how cute my baby is is about five times.

One thing that really impressed me.

It was a rainy day.

It had started to rain and I was walking quickly without an umbrella.

Then an old man walked by and tried to give me his umbrella.

He is very kind.

In fact, I was only a few metres away from home when it happened.

So I refused to take an umbrella, but I was happy that it happened so soon after I started living in Singapore.

If you take your baby on the MRT, Singapore's underground system, you will be given a seat 100% of the time.

At first I felt a bit guilty because it was the first time that I was given a seat by someone much older than me.

Every time I get on the train, someone gives up their seat for me.

I have come to believe that it is probably common practice in Singapore to give up their seat to someone with a baby.

Even at the library. When I was walking around the library with my son in my arms and he fell asleep, a man offered me a chair to sit here.

He's so kind. I wonder why? Is it because the weather is warm? Everyone seems to have a relaxed mind.

Second, This country is very safe.

In Singapore, there are surveillance cameras everywhere and many security people wearing red, and I think that's why everyone lives by the rules.

I often go to the shopping mall when my children are asleep.

I go to the mall when the kids are asleep, and I have a meal or a drink.

At that time, sometimes,a lady sitting near me ask to me "I'm going to the toilet, can you look after my luggage? I'm going to the toilet.”

I think this is not so common in Japan, isn't it?

In some countries, you might be worried about your luggage being stolen, but in Singapore, people seem to live in a very safe environment.

I feel that security is better in Singapore than in Japan.
