The morning sun shines softly on the streets of Ginza. After getting off the Shinkansen, I walked along Yaesu Street in front of Tokyo Station Yaesu Exit and came out onto Chuo Street. This is Nihonbashi. After 8am, businessmen walk briskly to their offices. It seems like it's the same in every country that they don't look very excited. I decided to walk through the streets of Ginza, passing through Nihonbashi and Kyobashi, to enjoy the early morning quiet. This area, which spreads out around the intersection of Ginza 4-Chome, is now enveloped in a calm atmosphere, in contrast to its bustling daytime atmosphere.

The first place I went to was the Sukiyabashi intersection. There was a cute police box, and the large intersection looked like a temple hall because there were few people in the morning. This area, lined with movie theaters and department stores, is still quiet in the morning. There I found a cafe. I sat in a window seat and enjoyed a fragrant coffee. Looking down the street, there were not many people passing by, but everyone was somehow in a hurry. It was fun to imagine what each person was looking for in this town and what kind of day they would spend.

I had a leisurely breakfast at the cafe, and left when Kyobunkan, a long-established bookstore in Ginza, was open. The store, filled with the aroma of books, felt like a hideaway to me. There were still few customers just after opening. The store stocked a wide variety of books, from the latest bestsellers to classical literature. I happened to pick up a book about the history of Ginza. As I turned the pages, I found myself reading about how this town developed and how the dreams and hopes of many people have intersected.

Next, I went to Kyukodo, located along Chuo-dori in Ginza 5-chome. This is a long-established store that sells stationery and incense, and its calm atmosphere is soothing. The scent of incense wafting through the store is somehow nostalgic, making me feel like the moment when the past and the present intersect. I bought some small writing paper and a fountain pen and decided to write a letter to a friend.

I walked further and arrived in front of Matsuya Ginza. The latest fashion items were displayed in the large glass show window. There, I happened to meet a friend from my school days. Although it had been decades since we last met, we recognized each other immediately. We were both happy to see each other again after such a long time, and we exchanged fond memories.

As I walked through Ginza, I felt the unique charm of this town. This place, where old traditions and new trends coexist in harmony, offers new discoveries no matter how many times you visit. My morning walk through Ginza was a comfortable moment for me, and it was a moment when I became part of the story woven by this town.
