When I was reading the articles by other writers on Note, I was surprised to see a lot of articles about a flower park in the Netherlands. It is called Keukenhof and is one of the largest flower gardens in the world.
When I lived in the Netherlands, my family and I used to go to the park. It was only a thirty-minute drive from my home. So we could easily go to the park whenever we wanted.
The park fascinated us with many kinds of flowers with bulbs. But what impressed me the most were the tulip fields next to the park. It was a huge field and fully bloomed many tulips of various colours. It was the first event that impressed me the most since I came to the Netherlands.
When we went to the park, we always took a video camera with us to shoot the beautiful scenes. It was a new Sony handy cam that my wife had bought in Japan before coming to the Netherlands. Unlike the latest video cameras or smartphones, but, it was big and heavy, so it was not easy to carry. Moreover, it was less useful than we expected. It has such a short battery life that we could not shoot the park for a long time. So we quit using it after we tried it several times. It taught us that we should keep what impressed us in our mind not in a video.

　noteで他のライターさんの記事を読んでいたら、オランダのフラワーパークに関する記事が多いのに驚きました。「キューケンホフ」という公園で、世界でも有数の花の公園です。オランダに住んでいた時は、家族とよくいったものです。家から車で30分でいけたのでで、思い付きでいくこともありました。
　パーク内では様々な球根花を観賞できますが、圧巻は、パークの隣にあるチューリップ畑です。広大なチューリップ畑には色とりどりのチューリップが咲き誇っていました。これがオランダに着て最初に感度したことでした。
　また、このパークに行くときは、記録に残そうと、ビデオカメラを持参したものです。妻がオランダに来る前にわざわざ日本で買ってきたソニーの新型のビデオカメラを持参しました。でも、今の、ビデオカメラやスマホと違って、大きくて重かったです。さらに、思ったほど役に立ちませんでした。バッテリーの持ちが悪く、撮影できる時間は非常に短かったのです。そのため、何度か使いましたが、結局使うのを止めました。感動はビデオではなく、心に刻むものだと知りました。
