Fictional Story: Eccentrics -2 （架空の話：変わり者たち(2)）

I know why he does not try to do anything with the homework. He is very bad at art and has never enjoyed the classes. He has also been teased about his bad paintings by his art teacher before. So, I can understand that he hates the classes, and he does not want to do anything with the art homework. I had not expected that he would do something about it and hand in his homework after the summer holidays.
But today, he has seemed to do something with it for some reason. I do not know the exact reasons and do not intend to ask him why.
Suddenly, he mumbled, ‘I'm going to a sports park in the morning for sketching.’
It was a big surprise to me and I doubted that he was really going to go out for sketching. I also tried to see what made him make such a decision in his mind. He must be very reluctant to and would not like to do it, if possible. However, it seemed that he could not allow himself to fail to hand in the homework. He must be afraid of being scolded by his teacher and his parents. So, he must have chosen to try the homework. He had no choice but to do so. (To be continued. See you next week!)

美術の宿題に手をつけようとしない理由は分かっています。美術がとても苦手で、授業が楽しいと思ったことがないのです。美術の先生に絵が下手だとからかわれたこともありました。だから、美術の授業は大嫌いで、この宿題をしようとしないのは、わかります。だから、宿題をやって、夏休み明けに提出するとは思ってもいませんでした。
でも、今日、どうい言う風の吹き回しか、少年が美術の宿題で何かをはじめようとしているのです。その理由はわからないし、聞くつもりもありません。
突然、『午前中、運動公園に行ってスケッチしてくる』とつぶやいたのです。
本当にスケッチに行くのか、疑問です。何がそんな気にさせたのか、考えてみました。やる気はないし、できれば、やりたくないはずです。でも、宿題を提出しないことは許せないようです。先生や両親に叱られるのが怖いからでしょう。だから、宿題に挑戦することにしたようです。ようするに、そうするしかなかったのです。
