March 22, 2023: WBC, Mexico(1), Incentive Trip (WBC、メキシコ（１）、報奨旅行）

March 21 was one of the most exciting days of the year for me. It was the day of the WBC’s semi-final between Japan and Mexico. As I expected, Japan beat Mexico and reached the final.
As I watched the game, I was reminded that I had had a small connection with the country. It was about a trip. I had arranged an incentive trip to Mexico for my European customers. Most of the customers desired to visit Mexican resorts. So, I made a plan to stay in Acapulco and Cancun for about ten days. I expected them to enjoy the trip very much, but they did not so much. They were frustrated that they had to move to another place just a few days after they arrive in Mexico. First, they stayed in Acapulco for a few days and then, had to fly to Cancun. They were not used to moving to a place in such a short stay. In addition, Acapulco did not attract them as much as I had expected. It was an outdated resort. It taught me that Europeans prefer to stay in one place for as long as possible when they go on holiday.

　21日は、今年で一番エキサイティングな一日でした。WBCの日本対メキシコの準決勝が行われた日です。期待通り、日本はメキシコを破り、決勝に進出しました。
この試合を見ているうちに、メキシコとの小さな縁を思い出しました。それは、ある旅行に関係するものでした。ボクが、欧州のお客さん向けにメキシコ行きのインセンティブトリップを手配したのです。お客さんの大半からメキシコのリゾート地に行きたいと要望があったので、アカプルコとカンクンに約10日滞在するプランを作りました。さぞかし、満足してくるだろうと思っていたのですが、それほどでもなかったようです。メキシコに到着後数日で、また別の場所に移動するのがいやだったようです。最初に、アカプルコに入り、それからわずか数日後にカンクンに移動しなければならなかったのです。欧州の人たちは、休暇で短期間に場所を移動することに慣れていなかったのです。また、アカプルコは時代遅れのリゾートで、期待外れだったようです。
このトリップで、欧州の人たちは休みの旅行では、一か所に長期間滞在するほうがいいのがわかりました。
