"英語で褒める。Complimenting in English."

Let's look at the many words that can be used to compliment something or someone.                                                                                                     何かや誰かを褒めるために使用できる多くの単語を見てみましょう。

Since there are so many, I will separate them into three groups (most popular, my favourites, and rarely used).                                                     たくさんあるので、3つのグループに分けます（最も人気があり、私のお気に入りで、めったに使用されません）。

Most popular (最も人気があり) group:
great, amazing, wonderful, incredible, fantastic, remarkable, nice, and excellent.

My favourites (私のお気に入りで) group:
splendid, magnificent, exceptional, and marvellous.

Rarely used (めったに使用されません) group:
delightful, astonishing, superb, and sensational.

Now, let's look into some of these praiseworthy words in greater detail. I will introduce you to the word easiest to incorporate in daily conversation from each of those groups.                                                     それでは、これらの称賛に値する言葉のいくつかをさらに詳しく見ていきましょう。 それぞれのグループの日常会話に取り入れやすい言葉をご紹介します。

"Excellent", is a word that is used to compliment something's high quality. This is how it looks like in a conversation. "That poem was truly excellent."                                                                                              「Excellent」とは、何かの高品質を褒めるためによく使われる言葉です。 これが会話の様子です。 「その詩は本当に素晴らしかった。」 日本語では、（素晴らし ）は "excellent" という単語の代わりになります。

"Magnificent", is not used too routinely, which makes it sound more original when it does appear in a sentence. I personally, like the distinctive flair it has as well.
「Magnificent」は、あまり日常的に使用されていないため、使用するとより独創的な感じになります。個人的には、この言葉の独特の音も好きです。

This is the word "magnificent" in a conversation.
"The ending written in that book was so magnificent I still remember those words."
これは会話の中の「magnificent」という言葉です。"その本に書かれた結末はとても素晴らしかったので、今でもその言葉を覚えています。"

"Delightful", is almost used exclusively in British English, but is understood throughout the English world. Which means it might be a good word to remember if you ever plan to travel to Britain. 「Delightful」は、ほとんどイギリス英語でのみ使用されますが、英語の世界全体で理解されています。 つまり、英国への旅行を計画している場合は、覚えておくとよいでしょう。

Here is the word "delightful", in a conversation. Reading a nice article is always what I find to be delightful.                                                              これが会話の中の「delightful」という言葉です。"素敵な記事を読むことはいつも私が楽しいと思うものです。"

In the Japanese sentence, "delightful" is represented by the word (楽しい).                                                                                                                    日本語の文章では、「delightful」は「楽しい」という言葉で表されています。

Keep noted, English spoken in countries with more British influence is rather different in a few ways compared to English spoken in other places.

英国の影響力が大きい国で話されている英語は、他の場所で話されている英語とはいくつかの点でかなり異なっていることに注意してください。

"Today, it is near the end of autumn, and the warmth of summer had departed long ago.
I stand still gazing at a tree that had lost all its leaves, but, to me, this sight is one of unwavering strength.
Those branches swaying in the cold wind, give a place to the birds perching on them to rest for a while."

葉っぱがなくなった木をじっと見つめていますが、この光景は揺るぎない力を見せてくれます。

A little story:                                                                                                      ちょっとした話:

This morning, I went outside with the intention to write my current thoughts of things. However, once I tried to write today's date before anything else, I realised it was too cold for the ink to come out. And, a cat from the neighbourhood was staring at me with a look that almost seemed as if it was mocking me. I laughed at the thought of that cat even after some time went by. That expression the cat had was quite humorous indeed.                                                                                           今朝、私は自分の現在の考えを書くつもりで外に出ました。 しかし、今日の日付を何よりも先に書き込もうとすると、インクが出てこないほど寒いことに気づきました。そして、近所の猫が、まるで私をからかっているように見える表情で私を見つめていました。 しばらく経ってもあの猫のことを考えて笑った。 猫の表情は実に面白かったです。
