The Tips For Making Kit Beer Richer
8/7/2020 Wed.
【Day 109】
My wife brought home 2 bottles of IPA which were brewed by Peter, my wife's college UJ's husband, yesterday.
At today’s evening, my wife hadn’t been back home yet, but I couldn’t help opening one of the bottles. (It ended up that my wife was very upset about that...)
The color of the beer was a beautiful amber which might be 10 on the Lovibond color scale, and 25 on the EBC color scale. The aroma was fruity and rich at the same time.
His beer looked obviously it had better quality than mine even before drinking it.
As I took one sip, I felt full-bodied and bittersweet flavor. It was a great beer.
The beer I brewed was good, but a bit too light as a pale ale. I wanted to make it richer.
According to my wife, Peter gave me a suggestion. The tips of making your kit beer rich are like that when brewing, you would better to add 50% extra sugar than indicated and make sure the amount of water is about 70% of the amount mentioned in the instruction.
That makes sense. How to make the original gravity high is the key. I think that’s great advice for me. I must try it next brew.
