As soon as I pulled the tab of the can, I could feel full of the zesty aroma. I heard they use Australian hop, Topaz and Galaxy hops. The appearance is beautiful hazy golden, it means this is unfiltered. It tasted explosive hop bitterness and mouth full of refreshing aroma again when I took one sip. And I felt rich body texture of malt as well. I think it is authentic, but more hoppy version Australian pale ale.

The Grifter Brewing is based in Marrickville where is sort of Mecca of craft beer in Sydney. My friend Kentaro, who has lived in Sydney for 17 years, told me that he thinks Grifter's taproom is the coolest venue ever.

And when I knew about their background, I started to be interested in them more and more. One of the founders, Glenn Wignall is the top skateboarder who is from New Zealand originally. He moved over to Sydney about 15 years ago and started home brewing while he worked as a pro-skateboarder. You can see him skateboarding below. You must be impressed.

When I saw the photo of him not knowing he is a skateboarder, I thought he must not be an athletic person. But I was completely wrong.

Glenn and 2 other guys started commercial brewing in Young Henrys’ brewery using a small spare tank as gypsy brewers in 2012, that was the beginning of their journey to today.

I’ve realized what makes me more interested in are stories of each brewery more than a taste of beer. Of course, every beer I've drunk tastes great and for now, I don’t think my tongue can tell differences between them exactly. But I don’t care at all. Cheers!
