#15 The Sun also Shines [PART3. Spain] ep.IV "Language and Dialect"

Italian-people-too-good-at-Spanish problem came out.

 It seems that Italian and Spanish language are almost dialect to each other. Even in a class of students supposed to be at the same level, they can speak incredibly fluent. I asked them about it, but they said they hadn't learned Spanish before. Some said "if you speak Spanish-like Italian, you can communicate." What the...

Since there is no Asian students, I was relieved to be able to achieve one of the goals during exchange; to avoid being around only with Asian students.

 Anyways, the class goes so fast. This gap can not be explained simply as a difference of talent. Turtles can't run faster than rabbits even if they made so much efforts. It can't be helped to compare with another species. This is not something like whether racism is bad or not, it would be so much easy if I could just say "racism is not good".

The class finished around 4pm, I couldn't guess what time it was because it's bright outhside until 8-ish in this country.

 I had bocadillo de calamares, which is famous in Madrid, for lunch. It tastes exactly the same as it looks. Just bread and fried squid. That's not more than that or less than that.

 Basically I cook for myself. Or better to say, I chose this way. The "dishes" the host-mother made me wasn't worth it to pay, so I turned the offer down gently. Adding to 300€ of the rent, she offered me 2€ for breakfast and 6€ for dinner. I can't afford take-out tortilla and grilled pork without seasoning for 1,000yen.

 Alright, let's go getting some gloceries. Supermarkets abroad is fun. In Spanish way, supermercado.

As soon as I walked in, woods of Spanish ham got my eyes. I felt I'm in Spain again. You can buy cheese by weight. It's much cheaper than in Japan. I came to terribly great country. I can't stop my cheeks going up.
