試験のジャマをするもの

当時はアデレードで語学学校に通っていました。
多国籍な環境。さまざまな考え方や、モチベーションで学校に通っているみたいです。

今日はリーディングのテストがあった。
I had a reading test today.
J'ai eu un test de lecture aujourd'hui.

リーディングのクラスはビジネスコースのため、トピックは海外のコールセンターについて書かれたものだった。
The topic of test was the offshore call centres because my reading class was a business course.
Le sujet de ce test était les centres d'appel, car mon cours portait sur les affaires. 

ちなみに私の通っている語学学校は一般、大学進学、ナース、ビジネスと、色々なコースをクラスごとに選べ、授業で扱うトピックも若干異なる。
The language school I am going to has several courses, such as general, academic, nurse, business etc. So, we can choose the course which is close to own measure.

コスト削減のためにインドやフィリピンなどの海外にコールセンターを設置する企業が多いが、彼らは母国語が英語ではないため、ネイティブからしたら会話が噛み合わないことがある。
More companies have the offshore call centres in developing countries, like India or Philippines, in order to reduce their product cost. However, native speakers in the UK and the US can't communicate with call centre staff, because the first language of staff is not English.

それが顧客としてはイライラする原因になり、人によってはスタッフに対して差別的な発言をしてしまうらしい。
The customers feel stressed by call centre staff, and then some customers show racism.

差別的な発言を受けた現地スタッフは精神的に参ってしまい、カウンセリングを受けたり、文化の違いを教育したり、と別にコストがかかってしまう結果になっているため、著者はコールセンターの海外設置に対して否定的な意見を述べている。
Some workers are deeply hurt, and they are given psychiatric counselling and trained to understand the difference of culture. As a result, the companies spend extra cost for their staff. The author have a negative opinion against offshore call centres.

試験開始後、用意された記事に不足があったため、それを先生に指摘したらコピーを取るため、教室を出ていった。
I pointed out the lack of hand out after we started the test. The teacher went out the classroom to get the rest of the article for a while.

ここぞとばかりに他の生徒の答えを確認する子どもがクラスメイトにいる。
One classmate thought that moment was good opportunity to cheat in the test because of youthfulness.

ベラベラ母国語で話すから、｢うっさい、黙れ｣と注意した。
He spoke to other classmate in his first language. I ordered him to shut his mouth.

不真面目な大学生活を送っていた自分の周りには、今日の僕みたいな考えの人がたくさんいただろう。
Because I was most terrible student in university days, there might have been a lot of people who agreed with me in the same department.

真剣にやっている人からしたら邪魔者以外の何者でもない。
Everyone who is serious thinks he is nobody but a nuisance.
Tous ceux qui sont sérieux pensent qu'il n'est rien d'autre qu'une nuisance.

うーん、たくさんの人にごめんなさい。
mmm, I would really like to apologize to some friends and classmates.
