▼(46)の著者のポール・クルーグマン（1953年2月28日-）はアメリカ合衆国の経済学者で，2008年度にノーベル経済学賞を受賞しています。一方，(47)の著者のピーター・ドラッカー（1909年11月19日-2005年11月11日）はアメリカ合衆国（出身はオーストリアのウィーン）の経営学者で，「現代経営学の父」「マネジメントの父」と呼ばれる著名な学者です。出題されたのはそれぞれほんの数行程度の英文ですが，受験生が大学入学後に必ずや出会うことになるであろう「知の巨人」たち，しかも，一方は現代を代表する経済学者で，もう一方は既に定番となった経営学者の英文に入試の段階で触れさせるということは，受験生が進路を考える上でも非常に意義のあることだと思います。
