The importance of protecting individual privacy has aroused great controversies among us in modern days. The rapid emergence of new technologies like AI tools and mobile phones has added a new dimension to the judicious management of our personal information. Given this technological development, I refute the stance that individual privacy can be administered effectively.

One major justification for why I believe that individual privacy cannot be protected is that technological advancement has encouraged us to register our personal information such as names, birthplaces and family relationships. A case in point is digitlization. In recent times, various mediums have been digitlized for the purpose of streamlining bureaucratic red tape, enabling us to utilize public services without any thought for geographical and physical factors. Although this simplification brings substantial benefits into our daily lives and redresses existing inequality between urbanites and countrymen, some anonymous perpetrators exploit our personal information for the sake of gaining their financial benefits.

Furthermore, the ubiquity of social media has fallen us into the trap of authoritarian abuses.The widespread availability of social networking service has fostered our interactive communication with each other, displaying our innermost thoughts, beliefs and even whereabouts.
Such a public exposure surely opens the door to digesting wide variety of cultures, traditions and languages, but it is possible that our safety is subject to danger. Amidst escalating tensions between democratic nations and autocratic counterparts, the latter always strives to import other nations' personal information in order to gain strategic advantage. This despicable act can be witnessed especially in Twitter in which hackers or technological experts in authoritarian nations create countless counterfeit accounts.

Another cogent reason to corroborate my stance is the comprehensive development of monitoring systems against ongoing crimes. Due to prevalence of street protests, shoplifting and murder, security cameras have become a routine part of society. While such machines play pivotal roles in attenuating the detrimental impacts atrocious crimes exert on us, they inadvertently serve as a main catalyst for exposing ourselves to public places by monitoring our movements and behaviours on a regular basis. Therefore, it can be said that the installment of security equipment counterintuitively allows our personal information to be leaked without any knowledge.

Although the advancement of new technologies feeds the success of transforming our lives in a positive manner, the notion that our individual privacy is protected safely is not guaranteed. In modern days, it is about time we made a sound judgement about managing our personal information judiciously.
