【怪談】ニンジン

ぼくはニンジンがきらいだった。

でも、おかあさんがおこるから　
いやなんだけど、むりに食べてみた。

そうしたら、甘くておいしかった。

どうしてニンジンがおいしいのか　
ぼくにはわけがわからなかった。

「生のニンジンは甘いのよ」
おかあさんが教えてくれた。

「今のニンジン、においも少ないしね」

それで、ぼくはニンジンが好きになった。
まい日、おやつに生のまま食べた。

ある日、学校からはやく帰ったとき　
ぼくは一本の大きなニンジンを見つけた。

それは台所のテーブルの上にあった。

おかあさんはいなかったけど　
おやつだと思って、ぼくは食べた。

信じられないくらい甘くておいしかった。

でも、すごく大きなニンジンだったから　
ぼくは半分しか食べられなかった。

のこりの半分はテーブルの上においた。

それから、ぼくは　
おなかがいっぱいになって　

なんだかきゅうに眠くなって　
じぶんのへやでねようと思って　

かいだんをのぼって二かいへあがって　
へやのドアをあけて
びっくりした。

ぼくのベッドの上におかあさんがいて　
しかもはだかでねていたから。

おかあさんはニンジンそっくりの色をして　
からだがちょうど半分しかなかった。

Carrot

I hate carrots.

But Mom got angry,
so I forced to try it though.

Then, it was sweet and tasty.

I did not understand why carrots are tasty.

"Raw carrots are sweet."
Mom taught me.

"These days carrots have little smell."

So I liked carrots.
Every day, I ate as a snack as raw.

One day I came home from school,
I found a big carrot.

It was on the table in the dining room.

Mom was out,
but I thought it was a snack, and I ate it.

It was incredibly sweet and tasty.

But, it was a very big carrot,
so I could only eat half.

I put half of the rest on the table.

Then I felt my stomach full,
somehow suddenly became sleepy,
thinking to sleep in my room.

I went upstairs to the second floor,
opened the door of the room.

I was surprised.

Because Mom was on my bed,
and she was sleeping naked.

Mom looks exactly like the color of carrot
and has just half the body.
