えてして穏やかな日に事件は起こる。
まるで退屈を紛らわすかのように････

発端は119番通報だった。
「江戸川にね、変なもんが流れてるんですよ」

川から引き上げられたそれは、確かに変なものだった。
死体には違いないが、人間や獣のそれとは違う。

あえてどうしても言わなければならないとすれば　
とりあえず「宇宙人の死体」であろう。

なぜなら死体の首らしき部位に名札が下がっていて　
それには「宇宙人の死体」と油性ペンで書いてあった。

その名札は、担当の警察官がふざけて下げたのではなく　
川から引き上げた時から付いていたのだと言う。

すると、江戸川の上流で何者かによって遺棄される前に　
そいつによって下げられたのだろうか。

その後、その不審死体の司法解剖がなされたのか　
そして真相が究明されたのか、続報はない。

死体が消えてしまったという噂もある。

あまりにも穏やかな日の出来事だったので、あるいは　
罪のない冗談で済まそうとしているのかもしれない。
