【SS】火事

胸騒ぎがして目が覚めた。

二階の部屋を出て階段を下りてみる。
なんとなく様子がおかしい。

廊下を進んで一階の居間を覗いてみる。
パパもママも起きていた。

「どうしたの？」

目をこすりながら寝ぼけた声で尋ねた。

「起きちゃったか」
「うん」

「どうやら火事のようだね」
「ああ、火事ね」

「ものすごく燃えているらしいぞ」
「どこが？」

「かなり近くだろう」
「ぼく、のどかわいちゃった」

ママが笑う。

「冷蔵庫にジュースが入っているわ」

スリッパを引きずりながら台所へ行く。
スリッパをパタパタ鳴らして居間に戻る。

「ママ、冷蔵庫に近づけないよ」
「あら、どうして？」

「だって、台所が燃えてるんだもん」
「まあ、台所が火事だったのね」

「とても熱かったよ」
「知らなかったわ。ごめんなさいね」

廊下から黒い煙が流れてきた。
パパが咳き込んだ。

「ドアはちゃんと閉めなさい」
「はい、わかりました」

しっかり返事をしないとパパは怒るんだ。

「のどかわいちゃった」
「朝まで我慢しなさい」

窓の外が明るかった。

「もう朝だよ」
「まさか、まだ真夜中よ」

窓を開け、顔を突き出して外を見た。

「わあ、隣の家が燃えてる！」
「夜中に大きな声を出さないでね」

「わあ、隣の家の隣の家も燃えてる！」
「まったくもう」

「わあ、みんな燃えてる！」
「静かにしないと本気で怒るわよ！」

ぼくは口を両手でふさいだ。
ママが本気で怒ると、パパより怖いのだ。

「もう寝なさい」
「はい、わかりました」

ドアを開けると、煙と火の粉が入ってきた。
急いで廊下に出てドアを閉める。

手探りで階段を上り、自分の部屋に戻る。

ベッドが燃えていた。
机や椅子も赤々と燃えていた。

煙を吸って咳き込んで涙が出てきた。

もう今夜は眠れそうにないな、と思った。

Fire

I woke up with feel uneasy.

I left my room on the second floor and go down the stairs.
Something is strange somehow.

I went through the corridor
and looked into the living room of the first floor.

Both Papa and Mama were awake.

"What's wrong?"

I rubbed my eyes and asked with a sleepy voice.

"Did you get up?"
"Yup."

"Apparently it sounds like a fire"
"Oh, it's a fire."

"It seems that it is burning very much."
"Where?"

"It will be pretty close."
"I am thirsty."

Mama laughs.

"There is juice in the refrigerator."

I go to the kitchen while dragging slippers.
I make a sound of slippers and return to the living room.

"Mom, I can not get close to the refrigerator."
"Oh, why?"

"Because the kitchen is on fire."
"Well, the kitchen was a fire."

"It was very hot."
"I did not know, I am sorry."

Black smoke flowed from the corridor.
Papa coughed.

"Close the door properly."
"Yes, I understand."

Papa gets angry if I do not answer firmly.

"I am thirsty."
"Be patient until morning."

Outside the window was bright.

"It's already morning."
"No way, it's still midnight."

I opened the window, stuck out my face and looked out.

"Wow, next door is burning!"
"Do not make a loud voice in the middle of the night."

"Wow, the house next to the next house is also burning!"
"Altogether."

"Wow, everyone's on fire!"
"If you do not quiet I will get really angry!"

I blocked my mouth with both hands.

When Mama is seriously angry,
she is more scared than Papa.

"Go to bed already."
"Yes, I understand."

When I opened the door, smoke and sparks came in.
Hurry to the corridor and close the door.

Fumble and climb the stairs and return to my room.

The bed was burning.
Desk and chair were also blazing red.

I caught smoke and cried, tears came out.

I thought that I will not be able to sleep tonight.
