僕の家は五人家族。
お父さん、お母さん、お兄さん、お姉さん、そして僕。

「いい子にしているんだぞ」
ある日、お父さんが家を出て行った。

「いい子にしているのよ」
ある日、お母さんも家を出て行った。

「いい子でいろよ」
ある日、お兄さんも家を出て行った。

「いい子でいてね」
ある日、お姉さんも家を出て行った。

だけど、誰も家に帰って来なかった。
みんな失踪してしまったのだ。

僕だけ家に残された。

警察に捜索願を出したけど、受理されただけ。
市役所に相談したけど、心配されただけ。

学校にも通ったけど、勉強しただけ。
それだけ。

僕はいい子になって、いい子のままでいた。

掃除したり、洗濯したり、自炊したり、忙しい毎日。
挨拶したり、回覧板まわしたり、近所付き合いも忘れない。

近頃、僕は思うんだ。

お父さん、お母さん、お兄さん、お姉さんは
この家を僕に残してくれたのかなって。

僕がいい子にしていたから。
