【SS】手袋と靴下

二階の窓から手袋を落としてしまった。
見下ろすと、一階の庇の上に載っていた。

運がいい。
まだ諦めるのは早い。

窓から身を乗り出して、手を伸ばす。
指先に当たり、手袋は下に落ちてしまった。

さすがに諦めなければ。

庇のすぐ下は水面だった。
洪水なのだ。

クラゲが浮かんでいるのが見える。

川の氾濫ではない。
海が氾濫したのだ。

庇の上には他にも載っていた。
ねじれた形の黒い靴下。

いつ落としたのか心当たりもない。
それでも拾うつもりで手を伸ばした。

ところが、黒い靴下は逃げてしまった。
というか八方に散ってしまった。

それは黒い靴下ではなかったのだ。
無数の蟻が靴下の形に群がっていたのだ。

みんな苦労しているんだな、と思った。

窓から上体を引き上げ、腰を伸ばす。
はるか遠い水平線を眺める。

昔、あれは地平線だったのだ。

あそこまで裸足で歩いて行けたのに。
なんでも素手で触れることさえできたのに。
　

A Glove and a Sock

I dropped a glove from the window on the second floor.
Looking down, it was on the eaves on the first floor.

I'm lucky.
It's too early to give up.

I lean out of the window and reach out.
I hit my fingertips and the glove fell down.

I have to give up.

Just below the eaves was the surface of the water.
It's a flood.

I saw a jellyfish floating.

It is not a flood of the river.
The sea was flooded.

There were others on the eave.
One twisted black sock.

I have no idea when I dropped it.
Still, I reached out with the intention of picking it up.

However, the black sock ran away.
Or rather, it's scattered in all directions.

It wasn't a black sock.
Countless ants were swarming in the shape of a sock.

I thought everyone was having a hard time.

I pull my upper body out of the window
and stretch my hips.

I look at the horizon of the sea far away.
Once upon a time, it was the land horizon.

I could walk barefoot there.
I could even touch anything with my bare hands.
