iPhoneで撮るアメリカの古都・ボストン〜②アート・イン・ブルーム（Art in Bloom）：ボストン美術館珠玉のコレクションと生花の共演
ボストンの冬は長い。4月下旬、花が一斉に開花し、待ちに待った春の訪れを告げると、この観光都市はにわかに忙しくなる。ボストン美術館は、その豊富なコレクションとユニークな展示方法で有名であるが、ここで開催される「アート・イン・ブルーム（Art in Bloom）」では、地域の花屋と園芸クラブが、ボストン美術館のコレクションをモチーフに、生花を創作するのだ。作品をどのように花と器で表現するか、解説ツアーも組まれ、人気のイベントとなる。1976年にここボストン美術館で始まり、年に一回4-5月に開催されている。
春の人気イベントで、大変混雑する(2023年4月)。絵画や彫刻だけでなく、建物をモチーフにした生花も美しい。
