映画制作日記 #16 「春花は村上由規乃」 | Production Notes #16 "Haruka is Yukino Murakami"

When we decided to make a movie, we talked with the staff at the pub, "Well, who should play the main role? I asked the staff at a tavern. At that time, the assistant director Ichi and the actor Soma Fujii were at the pub. It is safe to say that the original idea for the film was conceived by the three of them while poking around in the seaweed. Soma became the other main character. We decided to make it a pure love story, so I asked for a partner. Soma asked, "What about Yukino Murakami? Ichi and I immediately searched for her on our smartphones. What? I know her, I've seen her in a movie. I've seen her in a movie. Yes, she's a good actor, and I've always wanted to work with her. I decided to offer her the job right then and there. From that day on, I took the liberty of casting Ms. Murakami as Haruka, the main character, in my mind as I created the story. This is what is called "guesswork". 映画をつくることになった時、さて、主役は誰に？と居酒屋でスタッフと話した。この時居酒屋にいたのは助監督の市と俳優の藤井草馬。ほっけをつつきながら映画の原案はこの3人で考えたと言っていい。藤井はもう一人の主役となった。純愛映画にしようとなったので相手役を、と。草馬から「村上由規乃さんはどうか」と名前が出た。市と僕はすぐさまスマホで検索。あれ？なんか知ってる、あ、映画見たことある。そうだ、いい俳優さんだなあ、いつか一緒につくりたいなあと思ってたんだ。その場で彼女にオファーしようとなった。しかし、まだプロットもできてない。脚本はその後。こんな状態でオファーしても受けてもらえるはずがない。その日から勝手に主人公の春花(ハルカ)役に村上さんを脳内配役をしながら物語づくりをした。これはいわゆる "当て書き" というやつである。しかもまだオファーもしていないのに。2週間後、いざ、プロデューサー森口からオファー。そわそわとした日々。脚本は進む。そわそわ。ある日、連絡がきた。村上由規乃とある。？？ あれ？ 森口に確認。「ええ、OKもらってますよ。」とあっさり。「言ってくれよー。そわそわしてたじゃんか！」と。かくして春花は村上由規乃となり、村上由規乃は春花となりました。つづく。
