日本から海外の友人に無事と近況を知らせるメッセージ：英日併記

友人たちに向けてSNSに掲載したものです。

To my friends around the world,

I am safe in Japan, but unfortunately, my start to the new year hasn't been a joyful one.

As you might have heard, around 4 p.m. on the new year's day, a big earthquake hit in Japan. It mainly affected Ishikawa prefecture, located on the Japan Sea side. While there was some shaking in Tokyo and Yokohama for a while, everything here is fine.

It's been two days, yet we're still not sure about the extent of the damage. The affected area continues to experience aftershocks, resulting in thousands of collapsed houses and a significant loss of lives. It rains and snows there, and temperatures drop as low as zero degrees.

Additionally, there was an incident at Haneda airport. An aircraft carrying 379 people collided with a smaller aircraft on the runway, which had 6 crew members.
Thankfully, all 379 people evacuated before the aircraft was engulfed in flames. However, tragically, five out of the six crew members in the smaller plane lost their lives in the collision.

We still don't know the reasons behind this incident, but the heartbreaking fact is that the six crews were en route to aid the earthquake victims.

Last year, I was constantly traveling through Haneda airport. I also guided tourist groups to Ishikawa prefecture. There's been some damage to Kenrokuen Garden in Kanazawa, Ishikawa prefecture, and it's closed now.

I'm deeply shocked by all this news, but all I can do is to contribute by donating money and helping my clients as I usually do.

My heartfelt wish is for each of you to stay safe and find peace of mind in this new year.

世界中の友達へ。

日本にいる私は無事ですが、残念ながら新年のスタートは喜びに満ちたものとはいえません。

ご存じかもしれませんが、元日の午後4時頃、日本で大きな地震が発生しました。日本海側に位置する石川県を中心に被害が出ています。東京や横浜では一時的に揺れがあったものの、このあたりは大丈夫です。

2日経ったても、被害状況はまだ見えません。被災地では余震が続き、数千棟の家屋が倒壊し、多くの人命が失われています。現地では雨や雪が降り、気温は0度まで下がることもあります。

さらに、羽田空港で事故が起きました。滑走路で、379人を乗せた航空機が6人を乗せた小型機と衝突しました。
ありがたいことには、機体が炎に包まれる前に379人全員が避難しました。しかしとても残念なことに、小型機の乗員6人のうち5人がこの衝突で命を落としました。

この事故の理由はまだわかっていませんが、小型機の6人は地震の被災者を支援しに行くところだったというのは、本当に悲しいことです。

昨年、私は何度も羽田空港を利用しました。海外のお客さんを連れて石川県への観光案内もしました。石川・金沢にある兼六園でも被害があって、閉園中とのことです。

このようなニュースに大きなショックを受けていますが、私にできることは、寄付をしたり、自分のお客さん、クライアントのお手伝いをしたりすることです。

この新しい年を皆さんが安全に、心安らかに過ごせるよう、願います。
