【One worlder】 第一巻　聡はどこから来てどこへ行くのか　 序章②　黒田　勇吾

「ビットがまた下がってきたよ」桜を見上げていた顔を戻して花蓮は聡を見て苦笑した。
「まぁ。値が底に行って落ち着くまではまだ先だろうね。仮想通貨の時価総額が一気に三分の一ぐらいまでこの3か月で落ちてしまったなぁ。売ってしまって仮想通貨の夢諦めた初心者多いんじゃないかな。僕はまだまだ下がると思う。ある意味で仮想通貨の値段を引っ張っていたのが日本だから、あのハッキング事件は日本人の仮想通貨への幻想を砕いちまったもんなぁ」
「えぇ?じゃあもう仮想通貨は終わりってことなん」

花蓮の質問に少し考えてから聡は答えた。
「松男おじさんは昔っから投資というのは、一寸先が闇だって言ってた。株だって不動産投資だって、FXだってみんな一時間後にどうなるかわからんものだってよく言ってた。僕らはひたすら仮想通貨の学びだけをしていたけど、でもそんな危ないものをお前たち高校生に教えるのはこの先何十年も生きていく僕らにとって絶対必要なものだからって何度も語ってたっけ。避けて通れない世界なんだって。僕らが、高校一年から松男おじさんに教えてもらったことが、確かに僕らがこれから生きていくうえでなくてはならないことだったというのがようやく去年の後半ぐらいからわかるようになったんだ。そして本気になって仮想通貨投資に取り組んでみて僕らのような高校生でも十分自立して生きていくだけのアイテムが仮想通貨なんだというのが、いまは痛いほどわかるんだ。たぶん松男おじさんは癌になって、自分のこの先が短いというのを悟って、自分がいなくなっても僕らが自立していく道を考え抜いて、毎日実践で仮想通貨トレードを教えてくれてたんだよね。その頃に言ってたのが、仮想通貨はいろんな波があるだろうけど、これから世界を変えるってことだった。だから僕は松男おじさんの言うとおりにやってきたし、これからもやっていくよ。少なくとも仮想通貨は無くなんないよ。なんでかっていうと世界が続いていくためには、必要としているものだから」

「確かによく言ってたね。いつも集会所での勉強会で熱く語ってたわ。いいか、今のうちにこのブロックチェーンって仕組みを学んでおくんだ。れんちゃんたちの未来を変えるしろものやって目を輝かせていたよね。うちは、学校の勉強より仮想通貨で密かに稼ぐほうがおもろかったからずっとついてこれたんやけど。そやな、ブロックチェーンは永遠不滅や、って語ってたもんね」

「去年はとにかく楽しさと悲しさがいっぱいあったね。ビットやリップルがどんどん値上がりしていくのを見届けるように、おじさんは亡くなっていった。ハッキング事件が起きて、下げ始めた頃には、おじさんはパソコンさえ触れないほど、弱っていたから下げていくときを知らないまま亡くなっていかれた。それはある意味で良かったと思ってるよ。

先週のおじさんの一周忌法要で、踏ん切りついて、いまは僕は希望しかないよ。絶望は中学生のころにもう捨てたからな。というか絶望をおじさんは無理やり僕らから奪い取って捨てさせたようなもんだよな、あの中学生のころに」花蓮は聡の言葉に頷きながら、ふと何かを思い出したように少し悲しい表情になった。そして聡にゆっくりと近づいてきた。

「さとちゃん、今日はお別れする前に話しておきたいことがあってん」聡を見つめていた目をまた下に向けて呟くように花蓮は話しはじめた。
「さとちゃん、これから気を付けて旅立ってや。大学いかへんで世界を旅するわけやから、いろんなことがあるんやと思う。もちろんおじさんのおかげでうちらは今どきの18歳では持てへんようなお金をつかむ事が出来た。だから経済的なことは心配してへん。それよか心配なんはあれなんねん」
「なんだよ、あれって」聡はしゃがみ込んで、足元の雑草の緑の若葉を撫でるように触りながら、花蓮を見上げた。花蓮も聡の前にしゃがみ込んでもう一度話はじめた。

「聡は恋したことあるん。ええとほら、熱愛というか純愛と言ったらええんやろか、とにかく女の子を好きになったことあるん？」
聡はその花蓮の言葉を聞いて、すぐには答えなかった。花蓮の心が痛いほどよく見えたからだった。しばらく考え込んでから踏ん切りをつけるように聡は言った。

「僕は当分恋愛はしない。そう決めたんだ。とにかくこの世界のすべてを一度見たいというのが今の僕のすべて。恋愛はその先にあるんと違うかな。旅をしていく中でこの世界のどこかに誰かが僕を待っているのかもね。でも旅をして初めて青い鳥は自分の家にもういたんだって気づくかもしんないけど」
聡はまた立ち上がって桜を見上げた。花蓮の顔を見ない理由が桜にあるように。
だから聡は今花蓮がどんな表情をしているか見えなかった。あえて見ないようにしていた。その聡の目の前を桜の花びらがひとひら舞い落ちて若葉が芽生え始めた雑草地にそっと落ちた。
