高校は最近チャレンジスクールに変わった学校で、もと工業高校だった。
体育館に入るためのスリッパには〇〇工業高校と金色の文字で印刷してあった。

トイレは寒々しく、綺麗とは言い難いもので、ネットに入った溶けた石鹸が蛇口から下がっていた。

入学式は初めに保護者が席についており、入学生たちが入場してくる形で行われた。

新入生の入場です、と司会の先生が言った時、聴き覚えのある曲がかかった。

ああ、もう大丈夫だ、と根拠なく思った。
