エマニュエル・トッド「The new structure of the world（世界の新たな構造）」
2022年（令和４年）９月30日、東京都立大学グローバル教養講座、エマニュエル・トッド（Emmanuel Todd、1951年５月16日～）「The new structure of the world（世界の新たな構造）」（日本語字幕付き）の配信が開始された。
今回の講義が何らかの形で皆さんの役に立てることを願います。新しい世界の構造をより理解してもらえたでしょうか。
And perhaps I'll hand with these words hoping that this talk will have helped you to understand this new structure of the world better.
最後に大事なことを言わせてください。講義が終わったら私がお渡しした地図をよく見直してほしいと思います。今回、詳しく話せなかったことも読み取ってください。
But I think, last words, last comment, I would say that it's important that would be nice, if you students would start sometimes looking at the maps I've provided, getting into all the details I haven't talked about.
ドイツや日本のように中間に位置する国にも注目してください。そういった国はアメリカとの軍事同盟においては欧米社会に属するものの、半父系制またはやや父系制で、ある程度、産業システムも維持している国です。
Notice the intermediate position of countries like Germany or Japan which of couse are part of the West sort of a.., in terms of an alliance system, part of the American system, but that you will find on the maps as semi or mildly patrilineal with a mildly or reasonably preserved industrial system as intermediate.
どうかもう一度、地図を検証し、深く考えてください。
Please look examine, muse about, meditate on these maps.
なぜなら社会人類学の観点から見た世界には、深い分裂があります。しかし、それと同時に欧米とその他の国の相補性も見られます。その他とは父系制の国です。
Because this description of the world in terms of social anthropology of a deep divide , but also complementarity of the West and the rest knowing that the rest is central will be.
皆さんは、まだ若いので、この先、長く生きるはずです。
Well, you're students, you're young, you're still have to go through many years.
その世界が分裂していることを忘れないでください。
But I think you'll have to live in such a divided world.
私の研究で、分裂した２つの世界が互いを認め合えるようになることを切に願います。
And I hope my work will in a very modest way help the two parts of the world to accept one another.
