問題:Has the internet’s effect om journalism been positive or negative?

イントロ

Although it has been a long time since the appearance of the internet,
I think that the influence has been negative.
I have some reasons to support my opinion.

ボディ1

The first reason is that there is too much information.
Because of the internet, the amount of information is uncountable. I mean not only the true information, but also the false information.
It is hard for people these days to say what is correct and what is not.
This makes Journalism worthless.

ボディ2

The second reason is that everybody can be journalist.
Before the internet era, there are a few platforms like the newspaper companies and to be a journalist you should have been highly qualified.
But today, one smartphone allows you to be a journalist so anybody can provide the information with people.

結論

Although the internet makes people ‘life easier, I strongly believe that the influence has been negative on the journalism.

質問

・Do you think that there is anything that can be done to get their trust back?
I think the best way is the license to be a journalist.?

As I mentioned, there are too many journalists and most of them don’t deserve to be.
They just want to confuse people. Like in the past, people should be qualified enough because in this information society, the information can destroy someone’s life might kill people.

・Do you think that the internet has had any positive effects on the journalism.

Yes, there are a few positive effects.
The internet allows people to have access to the information.
So, without the subscription of the internet and TV, people can get much information.
It allows the poor people to get various perspectives.
So, I think that is a good thing.

・Do you think that it is possible for print journalism to survive?

I don’t think so. The biggest difference is the speed.
In this information society, the speed is really important, but the print journalism is too slow compared to the internet journalism.
Also, the print journalism has limited amounts of the information at one time.
So, I strongly believe that they will not survive.

・Do you think that mistrust is becoming a serious problem in modern society in areas other than journalism?

Yes, I think so.
As I said, there is too much information these days and hard to tell what is right or wrong.
I feel like it is more difficult to bring back the people’ trust once you lose their trust compared with the past.
I mean once you fail it is going to be a digital tattoo and you will suffer from it for longer time so even a small mistake can destroy your life.
So I think it is a serious problem.
