龍が天に昇るが如く。【松 シリーズⅠ】 Like a dragon rising to heaven.

拙宅の小さな松を自分で剪定するようになり十数年が経つ。1年に一度の剪定にも関わらず、松への思いが年々深まる。手を掛ければ成長する。命あるものへの愛情が生まれてくる。寺院を訪ねると気になるのがやはり松である。手入れされた松の姿にみとれてしまう。整えられた形は、素人の私でも非常に関心が深いところである。

It has been more than 10 years since I started pruning my own little pine. Despite the pruning once a year, my thoughts on pine grow deeper year by year. It will grow if you work on it. A love for life is born. When you visit a temple, you will find pine trees. It is lost in the groomed pine. The trimmed shape is great charm to me, an amateur.

中国では昔から、松は龍を意味する言い伝えがある。それが日本にも伝承され、いまでも松は神仏として扱われている。一般の家では玄関に、お寺では門周辺などに植えられる。

In China, pine is said to be a dragon. It has been handed down to Japan, and pine is still treated as Buddha. It is planted at the entrance of an ordinary house and around a gate at a temple.

                            赤松(龍が如く)  /  Red Pine (Like Dragon)

先日の大徳寺を訪ねた際に、塔頭参道の整えられた松(黒松)の中に、力強くそびえ立つ赤松がひと際目立っていた。龍が天に昇る姿を連想させる。そして、塔頭の徳禅師の門正面にも整えられた松があった。種類、形は違えども美しい姿である。

When I visited Daitoku-ji the other day, the strong red towering pine stands out in the pine (Kuromatsu) on the pagoda approaching. Reminiscent of a dragon rising to heaven. And there was a pine that was also set up in front of the gate of Tokuzen-ji . The kind and shape are different but beautiful.
