My Student Life. - Jan. 18, 2024.

Reflecting on my high school days, I had never imagined that I would not only discover a field of study I am truly passionate about but also decide to attend graduate school. To be honest, my exam for my first-choice university didn’t go as planned, so my initial expectations for school life here were not high. Yesterday, after finishing my paper and sending it to my professor, I tidied up my bookshelf in preparation for moving. That's when I found my loose-leaf notebooks from the university entrance exams. I used to practice English and Japanese essays daily. These notebooks brought back memories of my youthful determination, and tears unexpectedly rolled down my face. I don’t know why, but I still can’t part with these notebooks, Akahon workbooks, and brochures. It seems I’m still not over the university. Haha.

Although I sometimes wish I had been able to enter my first-choice university, I am truly grateful for and fulfilled by my student life here. As mentioned earlier, I met respectful and great professors, wonderful seniors, and lovely juniors. The most precious part of my student life has been seeing my professor and developing a passion for American Literature. I've been deeply engaged in my studies for these four years, especially the last two years in graduate school, which have undoubtedly laid the foundation for my life. Now, I have a seminar for my thesis, which is the last one before the deadline. I feel a bit nervous because my professor will read and advise on my English. Anyway, I’ll do my best.
