No More Weirdness
*This is written for Japanese citizens, so part of this information might not be useful for people in other countries, but I hope this helps people a bit somehow.
The purpose of this platform is to share meaningful information about education. Thus, talking about Covid-19 seems to be a bit off-topic, but it is actually not.
Accessing reliable information (ideally without bias), gaining new ideas, and integrating what you gain with your previous knowledge to form a new thought, all are needed in education, but now they are needed to think about Covid-19.
Be careful. I am not talking about a conspiracy theory, and do not take the position. In addition, I do not say Covid-19 is something we can recover from easily.
What I claim, and my great concern is why information about Covid-19 is so limited, and a danger of this limit. For sure, we always need to see a matter from various angles, not from one viewpoint.
Before discussing Covid-19, several characteristics should be confirmed.
1. Covid-19 is a virus.
2. Covid-19 has killed about 10,342 people in Japan up to now (5/4/2021)
3. Covid-19 has been prevailing among youth and elders.
Certainly, these characteristics have been presented by the media, and what we fear might be No.3, meaning the increasing number of patients. Yes, it is scary. On the other hand, weirdly, the media never discuss the validity of the measurement, the PCR test. Rather, we just accept it as a reliable medical approach. Today, let me suggest the following fact. I am not saying you should accept it. I just want you to widen your view or knowledge.
The PCR test was created by Kary Banks Mullis.
“[Dr Mullis] said that this PCR test was not made to detect any type of infectious disease. It’s designed to pick up a signature of DNA and RNA of the person being tested.”

My reaction is not like “Oh this must be part of a conspiracy”.
Simply, I am thinking about why we are using the test, and if the measurement is not reliable, the increasing number might be just to scare people.
Let’s make the world get better in an educated thinking way.
