戦後77年が経ち、平和について英作文を書いてみた

8月12日で、太平洋戦争から77年が経ちました。日本ではその後、戦争は起きていませんが、未だ世界では戦争が各地で起きています。今後の世界はどうなっていくのか、平和な世界が訪れるのか、英作文を書いてみました。

Agree or disagree: World peace is an achievable goal.

I disagree with the idea that world peace is an achievable goal. There are numerous conflicts that have been plaguing our society. It is hard to imagine a scenario in which those conflicts do not pose a challenge to our society in the coming decades. These are the following reasons why I disagree.

Firstly, historically speaking, wars have never disappeared in the world. Even today, it is happening around the world such as the war between Russia and Ukraine, or Israel and Palestine. Many reasons like religion, race, economy, etc lead to wars and it never stops.

Secondly, it is largely reported that many people in the world suffer from the use of illegal drugs. I also think that the use of illegal drugs will not cease in the future. Moreover, people trigger drug wars for the reason of money and desire. Because our human nature is the animal that is greedy.

Lastly, In my opinion, there is one last issue that will never go away, which is sex trafficking. This causes many women and young children to become victims.

In conclusion, it is very difficult to say that world peace is an achievable goal for all of the reasons above. However, we must not give up grappling with those problems. Otherwise, our future will never be brightened.

歴史から見ても、人々が戦争を辞めたことはないし、薬物使用や性的人身売買が無くなることはないと思います。それは、人間はよく深い生き物だからです。しかし、これらの問題を改善していくことを諦めてはいけません。少しでも明るい世界になるよう、問題と闘い続けていく必要があります。
