働くとはなにか What is work?

働くという事はあなたの理想の社会に貢献するという事だと思う。私が考える理想の社会とは、すべての人間が自立し、何かに依存しなくても生きていける社会だと考える。それが本当の意味で自由になることだと思う。

I believe that working means contributing to your ideal society. I believe that an ideal society is one in which all people are independent and do not need to depend on anything to survive. I think that is what it means to be truly free.

あなたが行っている仕事が、誰からも喜ばれていない、社会に何の影響も与えていない、ただ誰かからお金を貰うためだけにやっている仕事であるなら、それは今すぐ辞めるべきだと考える。そう遠くない未来でそれらの仕事は間違いなくなくなるからだ。

If the work you are doing is not making anyone happy, is not having any impact on society, and is only doing it to get paid by someone else, then it is time to quit now. Because in the not-too-distant future, those jobs are definitely going to be gone.

なぜなら次の時代は既得権益や不労所得を含む魅力のない仕事はなくなるからだ。魅力のない仕事は機械が代わりに行い、誰もが生活に困らないだけの収入を平等に得ることができているだろう。特許を得るような新技術も個人や一企業が発見し独占するのではなく、世界中の人たちがその為だけのプロジェクトを一時的に組んで、皆で楽しみを共有しながら発見するだろう。結果として一極集中型の競争社会ではなくなり分散型のコラボレーションの時代になっているだろう。そこで子供のころに近所の公園で仲の良い友達と遊んでいた事を思い出して欲しい。あれが最も純粋な共同作業だと思う。自分達でその場に貢献できることを考え、自然発生的に行動し、その行動には何の非難も制限もなく、良いものは取り入れ、悪いものは皆で改善する。

もし残念ながら次の世界が競争社会のままであるとしても、AIやロボティクス、ブロックチェーン等の破壊的イノベーションによる未来を生き残るには、その世界に早く順応する力を身につけておくため今から行動することに異論はないはずだ。

お金を稼ぐだけでは人は幸せになれない。人が幸せになるには仕事を見つける必要がある。その仕事は働く時間が自由であり、自分を成長させてくれるものであり、自分で選択でき、達成が可能であり、人を喜ばせることができ、多くの新鮮な経験を得ることができ、沢山の仲間がいて、世界が良い方向に変わる仕事だ。

Making money alone will not make people happy. For people to be happy, they need to find a job. It's a job where the hours you work are free, it makes you grow, you can choose, you can achieve, you can make people happy, you get a lot of fresh experience, you have a lot of friends, and the world changes for the better.

願わくば次の世代はそんな仕事にあふれている社会になって欲しいと望んでいる。そんな仕事を創造できる人がでてきて欲しい。そして、もしあるならそこで働ける力を身につけて欲しい。そう考え私は人が安全で安心して成長することができる環境を作るため活動している。

Hopefully, the next generation will have a society full of such jobs. I want to see people who can create such work. And if there is, I want you to have the ability to work there. And if there is, I want you to have the ability to work there. With this in mind, I am working to create an environment where people can grow safely and with peace of mind.
