パリ2024オリンピック・パラリンピック競技大会：2024年7月28日（日）

7月26日（金）にパリ2024オリンピック・パラリンピック競技大会が始まった。日本とパリでは時差が7時間あり，日本のほうが進んでいる。開会式が午後7時半（パリ時間）に始まったので，日本では翌日の深夜の午前2時半の開始時刻となり，7時間の時差は結構つらいものがある。

　日本で，パリオリンピックの競技をテレビ等で真面目にライブで観ていると，確実に寝不足の日々が連続することになる。パリでは，100年ぶりのオリンピックの開催だ。開会式の企画から，これまでのオリンピックの通念を気持ち良いほどに打ち破ってくれた。1889年のパリ万博の際に建設された当時のエッフェル塔の評判がそうであったように，これこそがフランスの「自由」だと言わんばかりである。

　今回のオリンピック・パラリンピック競技大会の開会式は，既存の社会インフラをフルに活用した屋外で行われ，リノベーションに先端技術を絡めて，ショーアップした。

　気象リスク，不安定な国際情勢，国内外のさまざまな危険因子が存在するなかで，どのように常識を覆してくれるか，大いに期待している。

The Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games began on Friday, July 26. Due to the 7-hour time difference between Japan and Paris, Japan is ahead. The opening ceremony started at 7:30 PM (Paris time), which was 2:30 AM the next day in Japan, making the 7-hour time difference quite challenging.

Watching the Paris Olympics live on TV or other media in Japan will undoubtedly result in consecutive days of sleep deprivation. In Paris, this is the first Olympics in 100 years. From the planning of the opening ceremony, they have pleasantly broken with the conventions of previous Olympics. Just as the Eiffel Tower, built for the 1889 Paris Exposition, was received at the time, this can be seen as a statement of France’s “freedom.”

The opening ceremony of this Olympic and Paralympic Games utilized existing social infrastructure to its fullest and took place outdoors, combining advanced technology with renovation to create a spectacular show.
