『君たちはどう生きるか』：2024年6月29日（土）

来週の7月3日（水）に，宮﨑駿監督の長編アニメ映画『君たちはどう生きるか』のDVD/Blue-ray/4K UHDが発売される。昨年の2023年7月14日に，日本で公開された映画である。2024年3月10日に，第96回アカデミー賞（アメリカ映画芸術科学アカデミー（AMPAS）主催）で長編アニメーション映画賞を受賞している。

タイトルは，1937年に刊行された吉野源三郎の著書『君たちはどう生きるか』と同じである。吉野源三郎は戦時中から戦後一貫して反戦・平和の論陣を張り，戦後は総合雑誌『世界』（岩波書店）を創刊した。宮﨑監督の映画の内容にも，要所要所で吉野源三郎の反戦・平和の進歩的知識人の考え方に繋がるものが見受けられる。

　もっとも，宮﨑駿監督の『君たちはどう生きるか』の中身は宮﨑監督オリジナルの冒険ファンタジーである。昨年の2023年12月16日に放映されたNHK番組『プロフェッショナル　仕事の流儀』の「ジブリと宮﨑駿の2399日」を観ると，約6年半という長い時間を掛けて，どのように，この長編アニメ映画『君たちはどう生きるか』が創作されたのかが，その舞台裏が細かくドキュメンタリーとして記録されている。こちらの内容をよく理解したうえで，あらためて映画を観ると，10倍以上の面白さを味わうことができる。

"The Boy and the Heron (How Do You Live?)"：June 29th(Saturday)

Next week on Wednesday, July 3, the DVD/Blu-ray/4K UHD of director Hayao Miyazaki's feature-length animated film "The Boy and the Heron (How Do You Live?)" will be released. The movie was released in Japan on July 14, 2023. On March 10, 2024, it won the Best Animated Feature award at the 96th Academy Awards (hosted by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, AMPAS).

The title is the same as the book "How Do You Live?" by Genzaburo Yoshino, published in 1937. Genzaburo Yoshino was an advocate for anti-war and peace from the wartime period through the post-war period, and he founded the comprehensive magazine "Sekai" (Iwanami Shoten) after the war. Elements of Genzaburo Yoshino's progressive intellectual views on anti-war and peace can be seen in key parts of Miyazaki's film as well.

However, the content of Hayao Miyazaki's "The Boy and the Heron (How Do You Live?)" is an original adventure fantasy by Miyazaki himself. If you watch the NHK program "Professional: The Way of Work," which aired on December 16, 2023, titled "2399 Days of Studio Ghibli and Hayao Miyazaki," you can see in detail how this feature-length animated film "The Boy and the Heron (How Do You Live?)" was created over a long period of about six and a half years, documented meticulously behind the scenes. By understanding this content well and then watching the film again, you can enjoy it more than ten times over.
