日本の古代は柱の文化であり、中世は間の文化であった。

日本の立国のはじまりに「結び」と「立つ」とが重視されていた。

日本では、この「和」と「荒」との併存が、日本の精神やルーツと深く関係している。

サビは日本人の美意識をあらわす指標のひとつとなるもの。サビの感覚は「もののあはれ」につながる。

「数寄の遁世」出家して世を捨て、そのうえで好きなことに徹していくことをいう。出家し、遁世した者は西行ならずとも清貧に甘んじるしかない。しかし心は澄み切っている。

Ancient Japan is the culture of 柱（pillar）and middle ages is the one of 間（gap）.

「結び（join）」and「立つ（stand）」have been emphasized at the beginning of the founding of Japan.

Coexistence of 「和（harmony)｣ and ｢荒（rough）」is closely related to Japanese spirits and roots in Japan.

Sabi（lonely）is one of characters that show Japanese sense of beauty. The sense of Sabi leads to 'Mono no aware （appreciation of the fleeting nature of beauty）'.

「Suki no Tonsei（refined person's seclusion from world）」means that people become a priest, abandon the world and stick to what they like moreover. People who become a priest and live in seclusion even without being Saigyo have no choice but to be contented with honest poverty. But their hearts are clear.
