May 2, 2024: Studying Maths (48), Exponential（数学の勉強（48）、指数）

For the last ten days, I have been working on exponentials again. I was sure I had to do so because I still had not fully understood this part. I also knew that without acquiring it, I would not be able to enjoy the differentiation, the part I will be working on soon. So, I was busy solving as many of the questions on exponential as I could. This time, I did not use the English textbook I always use. Instead of it, I used a Japanese one for high school students. The last ten days told me how badly I had understood the part. But now, I have understood it much better than before. And I am ready to work on the differentiation. I am happy to have the chance to work on it. I had never dreamed of this day. I still remember well that when I looked at this part of the textbook in high school, I was horrified and closed the book immediately. Since then, I have never tried it until now.
I am very much looking forward to working on the differentiation.

　この10日間、指数を再勉強しました。いまだに、指数を十分に理解していないと確信していたからです。また、これを身につけなければ、これから取り組む微分を楽しめないとも思いました。そこで、指数の問題をできるだけたくさん解くことに励みました。今回は、いつも使っている英語の教科書は使わずに、高校生向けの日本語の教科書を使いました。この10日間で、自分がいかにこの部分を理解していなかったかがわかりました。でも、今は、以前よりずっと深く理解できるようになりました。そして、微分に取り組む用意ができました。この機会が来てすごくうれしいです。こんな日が来るとは夢にも思っていなかったからです。高校時代に教科書のこの部分を見たとき、恐怖心をいだき、すぐに本を閉じたことを今でもよく覚えています。それ以来、今まで一度も挑戦したことがありませんでした。
微分に取り組むのがとても楽しみです。
