April 11, 2024: Gust of Wind （一陣の風）

Gusts of wind. Now, spring is the season for them. I have often been caught in them when I go for a walk. A few weeks ago, I was caught in it. It was too strong for me to continue to walk. If I had continued, it would have blown me away. So, I stopped walking until the wind died down. But others with no problems with their legs did not mind the wind and walked as usual. They came behind me and passed me easily, which was a great disappointment and frustration to me. But I have nothing I can do about it. It is a natural phenomenon. I have no choice but to wait for it to die down.
In addition to the natural ones, I have been bothered by the artificial ones, too. I have seen many of them, and among them was the one in the Tokyo Dome, an indoor stadium in Tokyo, that was the strongest. When I went through a revolving door to get out of the stadium, I was blasted by an artificial and strong wind. It was so strong that I was about to be blown away. Before I went through the door, I was told by a guard man to care for the wind. But I did not expect it to be so strong. The stadium had nothing they could do with the wind because of its structure. So they had no way other than asking the visitors to care for the wind in front of the revolving door. It was so strong as to be equal to the natural one.
I needed a very long time to write about a gust of wind. Until the last moment, nothing has come to mind. But the strong wind at the Tokyo Dome suddenly came to mind like a gust of wind.

　一陣の風。さて、春はこの風の季節です。散歩に出かけると、よく出会います。数週間前も、出会いました。あまりの強風に歩き続けることができませんでした。そのまま歩いていたら、吹き飛ばされていたかもしれません。そのため、立ち止まって風がおさまるのを待ちました。でも、足に問題のない人たちは風を気にせず、いつも通り歩いていました。ボクの後ろからやってきて、あっさり通り過ぎていきました。悔しい限りです。でも、どうすることもできません。自然現象なのですから。風が収まるのを待つしかないのです。
　自然のものだけでなく、人工の風にも悩まされてきました。人工のものをたくさん見てきましたが、なかでも東京ドームのものは最強でした。スタジアムの外に出ようと回転ドアをくぐったとき、とても強い人工の風にあおられたのです。吹き飛ばされそうなほど強かったです。ドアをくぐる前に、警備員から風に注意するように言われました。でも、ここまで強いとは思わなかったです。スタジアムの構造上、どうすることもできないようです。そのため、回転ドアの前で観客に風に注意するよう呼びかけるしか方法がないようです。まさに、自然のものに匹敵する一陣の風でした。
　一陣の風について何か書くのにとても時間がかかりました。最後の瞬間まで何も浮かんでこなかったのです。でも、東京ドームでの強風が一陣の風のように突然頭に浮かんできました。
