A Love Poem

The cornea and lens refract,
Projecting your visage on my retina.
Photoreceptors transduce photons
Into electrochemical impulses.

Along the optic nerve these signals propagate,
Converging in the visual cortex.
Pattern recognition circuits activate,
Identifying your familiar face.

Amygdalar neurons fire in response,
Triggering release of neuropeptides.
Oxytocin floods my limbic system,
Eliciting feelings of joy and connection.

Motor commands then descend,
Contracting facial muscles in display.
This efferent copy circles back,
Completing the perceptual feedback loop.

From optics to affect, a dynamic exchange -
Sensory input driving emotive output,
Bridging the physical and the experiential,
In this cyclic dance of sight and sentiment.

喜びとつながりの感情を引き起こす。

そして運動命令がくだされ
顔の筋肉を収縮させる
この遠心性コピーが循環し
知覚のフィードバック・ループが完成する。

光学から感情へ、ダイナミックな交換。

感覚と経験的なものを橋渡しする。
この視覚と感情の循環的なダンスの中で。
