How to find cozy time
“Lagom” is the Swedish word which I found trough the Pathway program. This means “Not too little, not too much. Just right”. This concept penetrates Swedish society and Swedish people firmly. Swedish people know their own “Lagom”. They are good at finding it and have cozy time in ordinary days. They enjoy fika time and taking walk near the lake or in the forest with friends and coworkers.
This picture was taken nearby Vätternsjö in sunny day. Two Swedish men fed foods for ducks while they enjoyed chatting. Their behavior was natural. Therefore, I felt that it was common thing for them although it surprised me because it is rare scene in Japan. Their joyful laughter made me comfortable.
Some elderly people enjoyed picnic in Grännaberg. I took this picture when I hiked there. They brought sandwiches, some cakes and coffee. Then, they started mini party.
Top image was taken when I had fika with previous the Pathway semester student at Fiket in Gränna. There were friends, family and couple who had cozy time. We also past good time with lovely conversation.
Swedish people are good at making comfortable place not only for with friends but also only for their selves.
I found this beautiful decoration when I took a walk during Christmas holidays. Windows of almost all of houses were decorated. I felt Swedish people’s warm heart which they want to make others and themselves happy even in dark winter.
In my view, Swedish people may have a feeling of happiness and coziness from the things that are familiar to them. Also, they make effort to create inclusive society which everyone may find their own comfortable place through each person knows each "Lagom" and find cozy time.
