Tempted and tried, we’re oft made to wonder
誘惑され、試されて、私たちはしばしば不思議に思う。
Why it should be thus all the day long,
どうしてこんなことが一日中続くのかと。
While there are others living about us,
私たちと同じように暮らしている人々は
Never molested, though in the wrong.
罪の中にいても決して苦しむことはないのに。
