【Native English Diary】11日目～A sunny day in Kameido

Ours started on Saturday by going on a picnic!

Day 11
Is everyone having a nice Golden Week?
This Saturday was bright and sunny, so it's off to a great start!
※off to a good start = 良いスタートを切った （off to a bad startも言えます！）
Saturday was the perfect picnic weather.(picnic weather = ピクニック日和). I think we're a little too obsessed with picnics.
So you know what that means… time for our favorite ピクマ！😂
This time, we upgraded our "picma" to "picmado", which means picnic + McDonalds + Mister Donut! Our picnics are becoming very unhealthy…
Me and Kazuki don't really like crowds, so we decided to try to avoid the Golden Week crowds by going to a park in Kameido instead of Yoyogi Park. It was really relaxing and we spent a lot of time reading and chatting.
By the way, what do you like reading? I like reading many different things, but sometimes I get obsessed with horror and mystery novels.
On the way home, we discovered a new shopping mall that just had its grand opening in Kameido, called Kameido Clock.
No wonder there were so many people in the area!
※It's no wonder = 不思議ではない (理由がわかった時に使う表現)
だから人たくさんいたんだ！
We were really impressed by the shopping center, but it was so crowded! It's ironic because we came to Kameido to avoid the crowds of Golden Week.
But we enjoyed it, so we may use it as our main shopping area from now on!
We were especially impressed by the supermarket goods in the basement.
There was an area for fresh fish that you could have cut and prepared any way you like, for free!
We decided to buy a whole sea bream (タイ) and have it cut into sashimi. (to have it 〇〇 = 〇〇してもらう)
It was so convenient and cheap, but waiting for them to cut it took a long time.
