【Native English Diary】14日目～Making custom notebooks in Kuramae
Hello note friends 😊 The other day I visited Kakimori in Kuramae, where you can customize your own personal notebook.

Day 14
One of me and Kazuki's favorite spots in Tokyo is Kuramae. We love areas of Tokyo that have an "old town" vibe and lots of options for nice cafes. (vibe = 雰囲気)
The other day we went to Kuramae for a date. Kazuki was hoping to get a new notebook, and we thought Kuramae would be a great place to look since there were so many cute stores selling miscellaneous goods. (miscellaneous goods = 雑貨)
I love shopping in these kinds of stores, but I'm always tempted to buy things I don't need…
Anyways, we were craving Italian so we had lunch at an Italian restaurant called Riverside Cafe Cielo y Rio.
We weren't expecting it to be so popular! Luckily the inside was spacious with lots of tables, so we were seated quickly.
After we finished eating, we started heading towards a notebook shop that Kazuki found online.
It was about a 15 minute walk away, through peaceful and quiet Kuramae neighborhoods. Is there really a notebook store around here..?
And then we found it… Kakimori!
Kakimori is obviously a very popular spot, as it was very crowded.
You can choose the front and back cover, type of paper, layout, clasps and ring color of the notebook.
It seemed way too much fun to pass up! (to pass up = 断る)
※too 〇〇 to pass up = 〇〇すぎて断れない
Me and Kazuki probably spent over 1 hour choosing our perfect design. Kazuki kept changing his choices for the back cover.
But finally, we finished! But the most important part was still to come.
After handing your choices over to the staff member, you are given a quotation and an estimated time to build the notebook.
We were told that our notebooks would take about 40 minutes, so we decided to go have another walk through Kuramae.
And finally… our notebooks are done! They turned out even better than expected!
I recommend this place for a fun date activity or for anyone who needs a new notebook 😁
