“Break a leg” 4/28

Today, I learned a phrase “break a leg”.

This means “Good luck”. 

Some people believe that saying someone “good luck“ actually bring bad luck. So if you want someone to be lucky, you have to wish bad luck.  

I think it is interesting that wishing bad luck express good luck. 

Ex. Hey, I hope you break a leg in this party.

幸運を祈る為に敢えて逆のことを言うというのは面白いですね。
