#12 The Sun also Shines [PART3. Spain] ep.I "Supper"

August, 2017. Home.

The last supper in Sapporo must be sushi. And German sparkling wine, Sekt. German wines tend to have taller and thinner bottles compared to others like French.

It was a long way to come here.

Japanese student must get the visa to stay abroad more than three months. *Current application procedure is partialy different.
Application must be done in three months before departure. The website of the embassy of Spain says it takes about two months to give the visa after application. This means that you need to prepare all the documents in first one month and submit. Applicant must hand in the documents at the embassy of Spain in Roppongi.
Sending documents or proxy application are not permitted.

It works the same when you receive it. Application requires application form for the visa, registration of address in Japan, passport and photocopy of it, certificate of study issued by the university in Spain written in English and Spanish, certificate of health condition, and certificate of innocent issued by Japanese police. Certificate of health condition and innocent are valid for one month after issuing. You can get the one for criminal record at the HQ of Hokkaido Police, but you need filled application form for visa, record of address, passport and photocopy of it, and document which can prove your exchange program, then you need to wait for the record for one week.

The problem, here, is application form for the visa that has already been filled in.

The website of the police doesn's mention any of this, and you can't know until you call or ask them directly, so I got to know that on the day I went there.

This form is just filled in which means that, of course, I hadn't submitted it yet, so this document means nothing.
It has no difference with writings on note. It's impossible to understand why it's necessary. I ran to a convenience store to make a copy of the form after just downloading it on the Internet, and handed it in.

What does this document mean after all?

I asked this question to a police officer there, but couldn't get any meaningful answer. Next week, with frustration toward these "servant works", I received the certificate.
