#33 The Sun also Shines [PART3. Spain] ep.XVII "Don Quijote"

The city is turning into Chrismas colors.

I came to Alcala de Henares for a day trip by train from Madrid.

"The" Don Quijote was born in this town, so there are statue and museum featuring it. Anyway I came here for Christmas market.

Odori-Park-like place in the center was full of shops. There is even a ferris wheel in front of a huge Christmas tree. I found a skating rink that isn't blended in season. Which is to say, it's not cold at all around Madrid. It's not something like short slieves with short pants, but it feels like September or October in Sapporo.

There is a huge tent looking like a market next to the skating rink, and it was a small amusement park. My eyes got caught by a white slope pretending to be snowed for tube sliders. It's a speciality for non-snowing region. They seem to be wanting snow.

Comparing to Japan, these people know how to Chrismas. I realized this just before leaving to Japan that Spanish Christmas wasn't red at all.

It's already famous that red Santa Claus is a part of canpaign by American capitalist, however, there was almost nothing red including trees. On the other hand, Japan is bloody red in December.
