Hopefull

This morning, I watched a someone’s Youtube video about journaling that inspired me to rethink my journaling style. I write down whatever comes to mind, what is happening in life, and stuff like that. It can be self-reflection for myself, for sure. In a video, she said journaling has a couple of benefits: you can go back on the right track by putting out your goals or aspirations into words, and expressing gratitude can also contribute to your happiness. That’s what had slipped my mind. She reminded me of how grateful I’m for the little things and how excited I am about my goals. I’ll start to write down my goals and gratitude for things and people around me in a notebook.

Contemplating the future always fills me with hope and reassure me that it's brimming with possibilities. What I've learned from my experience, depression, is we don't have to get caught up in the past. We can move forward from wherever we are. The memories spent with cherished people  resurface unexpectedly, sometimes pulling you back into the past. In a dream, they appear, leaving you waking with tears in your eyes. Yet just hold onto them as heartwarming moments, not dwelling. As you may have already noticed, these words are all my own reminder.
